Vaginal dryness is a common issue that can be very distressing for many women. It can occur, for example, in connection with hormonal changes such as menopause, but can also be a factor following medical treatments like chemotherapy. If the vaginal mucosa is dry and sensitive, irritation, burning, or discomfort during intimate contact can significantly impair a woman’s well-being.
At KALEIDOSCOP aesthetic in Zurich, we therefore primarily use vaginal Laser treatment with BellaV to regenerate and rebuild the vaginal mucosa. The laser energy stimulates the body’s own regenerative processes and the formation of new Collagen. This can make the mucosa more resilient and elastic, thereby alleviating symptoms caused by vaginal dryness. Significant vaginal tightening is not the primary focus of this Treatment.
The team of specialists led by Dr. Köhler has extensive experience and will be happy to provide you with personalized advice on the options for BellaV Laser treatment for vaginal dryness and other intimate health concerns. Please feel free to schedule an appointment to find out during a personal consultation whether this treatment is right for you.
Information on BellaV Laser Treatment
Definition of BellaV Laser Treatment
BellaV is a modern, high-tech medical device that we use at KALEIDOSCOP aesthetic in Zurich specifically for the regeneration of the vaginal mucosa. During treatment, the energy from the Er:YAG Laser heats the vaginal tissue down to its deeper layers. This stimulates the production of new Collagen and Elastin as well as the body’s own regenerative processes. This helps support the structure and resilience of the mucosa and can alleviate symptoms such as vaginal dryness. A slight firming of the tissue may also occur, but significant vaginal tightening or narrowing is not the primary goal of the treatment.
A session takes only about 30 minutes. At KALEIDOSCOP aesthetic in Zurich, we therefore offer this treatment on an Outpatient basis. You come to us at your scheduled appointment, we perform the BellaV Laser treatment in a relaxed atmosphere, and afterward you can return to your normal daily routine. There is no Downtime.
Reasons for BellaV Treatment
A particularly important reason for BellaV Laser treatment is persistent vaginal dryness. The specific symptoms that are most prominent vary from woman to woman. At KALEIDOSCOP aesthetic in Zurich, our clients cite the following reasons, among others, for scheduling an appointment:
- persistent vaginal dryness, especially during menopause or in connection with chemotherapy
- mild stress incontinence, such as when laughing, sneezing, coughing, or exercising
- Burning, irritation, or pain during sexual intercourse due to a dry or sensitive vaginal lining
- Pain caused by scars from a perineal tear or episiotomy
- frequently recurring vaginal infections
Many women choose BellaV because the treatment does not require hormones or other medications, does not involve surgery with a scalpel or general anesthesia, causes minimal pain, and involves virtually no Downtime. Dr. Köhler would be happy to discuss with you in person whether BellaV is a good solution for you as well. Simply schedule a consultation online or by phone.
The Goal of BellaV Treatment in Zurich
The primary goal of BellaV treatment is to support the regeneration and rebuilding of the vaginal mucosa, thereby alleviating symptoms caused by vaginal dryness. By stimulating the body’s own Collagen production and regenerative capacity, the tissue can become more resilient and elastic. Tightening may occur as an additional effect; however, a significant narrowing of the vagina is not the primary focus. Specifically, we aim to achieve the following goals for our clients:
- improved regeneration and restoration of the vaginal mucosa for greater resilience
- a possible slight firming and Improvement in the elasticity of the vaginal tissue
- relief from vaginal dryness and the associated symptoms
- an overall more pleasant body image and greater well-being
- Renewed enjoyment of intimacy and more intense sensations
In many cases, we can also alleviate mild stress incontinence using the BellaV laser. However, vaginal Laser therapy should be viewed more as a complementary treatment in this context. In cases of severe symptoms, a gynecological evaluation is always recommended. Since goals vary greatly depending on the client’s initial condition and preferences, Dr. Köhler will discuss and tailor these goals precisely with you during the initial consultation.
The BellaV Laser Treatment Process
Preparation for Treatment
We always begin with a detailed and personalized consultation in a discreet setting. It is important to us to understand what symptoms have led you to us and what expectations you have for the BellaV treatment in Zurich. Based on a prior gynecological examination and an assessment of your vaginal tissue, Dr. Köhler can then determine whether BellaV Laser treatment—for example, for vaginal dryness—is generally suitable for you or whether you might benefit more from another treatment method. If there are no contraindications to the treatment, you will receive detailed information about the procedure, possible risks and Side effects, as well as the realistic results you can expect.
Performing the BellaV Laser Treatment
We perform BellaV treatment on an Outpatient basis. After you have made yourself comfortable on our treatment table and we have prepared the treatment area, we begin by carefully inserting the applicator into the vaginal area. Here, the laser energy emitted by the handpiece generates heat—which is usually perceived as pleasant—that penetrates into the deeper layers of the tissue, where it stimulates new collagen formation as well as the regeneration and rebuilding of the vaginal mucosa.
By slowly retracting the applicator, we ensure that no area is missed and that the vaginal tissue is treated thoroughly. After about 30 minutes, the treatment is complete, and you can resume your normal daily activities. This makes it easy to schedule the treatment between two appointments or during your lunch break. However, please be sure to follow our aftercare instructions.
Post-Treatment Care
No special aftercare is necessary with BellaV. However, we recommend avoiding sexual intercourse, exercise, and visits to saunas and swimming pools for the first one to three days. This allows the tissue time to respond to the Treatment undisturbed. We’ll provide you with information on other helpful measures—such as intimate hygiene after your BellaV Treatment in Zurich—immediately following the procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions About BellaV Laser Treatment
How does the BellaV treatment work?
During the treatment, we deliver laser energy at a specific wavelength (2,940 nm) to the vaginal mucosa using a special handpiece. The heat generated in this way stimulates the natural regeneration process, particularly the formation of new Collagen. This helps build a more resilient, better-perfused, and more elastic vaginal mucosa—an important approach to treating vaginal dryness.
Who is a good candidate for BellaV treatment?
BellaV treatment is particularly suitable for women who suffer from vaginal dryness and associated symptoms such as burning, irritation, or pain during sexual intercourse. Vaginal dryness often occurs during or after menopause; however, it can also be an issue in connection with chemotherapy. Depending on the findings, BellaV may also be a treatment option after pregnancy and childbirth or in cases of other changes in vaginal tissue.
For which symptoms might vaginal Laser treatment be beneficial?
Vaginal Laser treatment with BellaV may be particularly beneficial for vaginal dryness and associated symptoms such as burning, irritation, or pain during sexual intercourse. Vaginal dryness can occur, for example, during or after menopause or in connection with chemotherapy. Other possible applications include symptoms following pregnancy and childbirth, as well as mild forms of stress incontinence.
Can BellaV be used after childbirth or during menopause?
Yes, use after childbirth or during menopause is among the typical applications for BellaV. The only important consideration is that enough time has passed since childbirth and that the mucous membrane and any birth-related injuries have fully healed. Before treatment during menopause, we recommend an individualized gynecological examination and consultation.
How many sessions are needed with BellaV?
This depends, among other things, on the initial condition, the specific symptoms, and the desired treatment goal. In our experience, a series of two to three Sessions spaced about four to six weeks apart often leads to good results. Afterward, Dr. Köhler recommends regular, for example annual, maintenance Sessions to maintain the results long-term.
How long does a BellaV treatment take?
A treatment session usually lasts about 30 minutes.
Is BellaV treatment painful?
Based on our experience, you’ll only feel a slight tingling or pulling sensation, perhaps some pressure, and, above all, warmth. Anesthesia is usually not required. However, since pain perception varies greatly from person to person, we can apply an anesthetic cream before the treatment upon request.
What risks and Side effects can BellaV Laser treatment have?
Minimally invasive treatments like BellaV carry fewer risks than surgical procedures. Nevertheless, mild redness, swelling, or irritation of the mucous membrane may occur temporarily after vaginal Laser treatment, but these symptoms will subside on their own. In the event of improper application, tissue damage is theoretically possible. However, with an experienced practitioner like Dr. Köhler, this risk is extremely low.
How long do the results of a BellaV treatment last?
This depends on several factors, such as age, hormonal status, and the quality of the Connective tissue. It is therefore not possible to make a general prediction. However, we can perform a touch-up treatment at any time to extend the longevity of the results.
How much does a BellaV treatment cost in Zurich?
It’s impossible to give a general answer, as the cost depends on the extent of the Treatment, which can vary greatly from person to person. Dr. Köhler will provide you with a personalized treatment plan in advance, which will also include the estimated cost of the BellaV Treatment.
