Botulinum toxin in Zurich

Wrinkle injection with Botox® is a proven method for removing expression lines. We use the neurotoxic protein Botulinum toxin, better known under the brand name Botox®.

In Zurich, we inject the active ingredient directly into the muscle responsible for the formation of wrinkles. The Botulinum toxin inhibits nerve impulses in the muscle, causing the treated muscle to relax. As a result, the skin smooths out and dynamic wrinkles are reduced.

Preparation for treatment

No special preparation is necessary. However, you should avoid taking blood-thinning medication in the days leading up to your treatment. At the time of the Injection treatment, your skin should be free of injuries, infections, and acute illnesses.

Performing wrinkle injections with Botox®

Depending on the treatment required, wrinkle injections with Botox® in Zurich take a maximum of half an hour. Anesthesia is not absolutely necessary, as the treatment is performed with very fine needles. However, an anesthetic cream can be applied on request.

The Botulinum toxin is injected in a controlled dose directly into the muscle whose activity is to be reduced. The Botox® spreads over the following days and gradually unfolds its relaxing effect. The maximum effect is achieved after about 10-14 days.

For more extensive corrections, Dr. Köhler may recommend spreading the Botox® wrinkle treatment in Zurich over several sessions. It is important to us to proceed very carefully with the Injection treatment and avoid overcorrections. If several appointments are planned in your case, these will take place at intervals of several weeks.

Follow-up treatment

Wrinkle treatment with Botox® is a gentle procedure that usually does not cause any Downtime or severe Side effects. You can return to your everyday life without any major restrictions, but you should take it easy physically for 1-2 days.

It is also important to keep your head upright for several hours so that the Botulinum toxin can spread optimally in the target area. Touching and massaging the area should be avoided.

After a wrinkle injection with Botox® in Zurich, we advise against heat treatments such as saunas or hot baths for a few days. You should also avoid direct sunlight and alcohol consumption as much as possible. Makeup can be reapplied the day after treatment.
